A residential construction project in Vandalia, Ohio required reliable watertight solutions for a home addition. The site had a history of poor drainage and standing water accumulation after heavy rainfall. ConSeal’s engineering team worked closely with the contractor to develop a custom waterproofing solution to address concerns for water intrusion and long-term performance.
The exterior of the block wall was primed with CS-80 and coated with CS-1800 Waterproofing Membrane to provide protection against up to 100psi of positive hydrostatic pressure. Prior to pouring the basement slab, CS-231 Controlled Expansion Waterstop paired with CS-1550 Instant Grab Adhesive-Sealant was installed around the interior perimeter concrete footing and support columns to prevent water intrusion in cold joint locations. To seal the expansion joints and control joints in the floor slab, CS-80 Primer and CS-1500SL Self-Leveling Elastomeric Sealant were utilized. To complete the slab treatment, ConBlock SH was applied to reduce dusting, increase abrasion resistance, and inrease resistance to water penetration.
