Concrete Pipe – High Water Installation

Location:

United States, Lindsborg, Kansas

Precaster:

McPherson Concrete Pipe

The Situation:

As a result of the Mississippi River flooding in 1993, there was high water during the installation of concrete pipes at this Kansas project. The project required watertight concrete pipes; therefore a sealant that could meet this criterion was in need.

The Solution:

To provide the watertight seal of the concrete pipe joints CS-102B was used. Even though there were muddy and wet conditions for installation, CS-102B was able to seal these joints. Some of the concrete pipes were installed 20’ below grade.

Sealant Application:

  • Concrete Pipe

ConSeal Products Used:

Applicable Industry Standards:

  • ASTM C-990
